Annual Seed to Supper FREE Gardening Workshop Series! – Starts February 15th!

Join Friends of Nadaka, St. Aidan’s Church & Oregon Food Bank for our Seed to Supper Gardening Workshop Series starting February 15th! This is a FREE 6-week beginning gardening course that gives adult gardeners the tools they need to successfully grow a portion of their own food on a limited budget.
 
 
Participants will be given a free gardening book, seeds, plant starts, trowels, a certificate of completion and more.
 
When: Thursdays, February 15th through March 22nd from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM
 
Where: St. Aidan’s Episcopal Church 17405 NE Glisan St, Portland, 97230. Taught indoors with possible visits to Nadaka Community Garden
 
Who: Open to adult participants interested in learning how to garden on a budget.
 
Details: Please plan to attend all 6 classes. Participants get a free gardening book, seeds, and other goodies as available.

MLK Day of Service at Nadaka!~ Monday, January 15th

Join Friends of Nadaka this MLK Day of Service to restore a healthy habitat at Nadaka Nature Park and give back to the community. We will be planting natives, removing invasive species, removing litter, and tidying up the garden.

Tools, gloves, and light refreshments will be provided. Dress to work in natural areas: long pants, warm cloths, and closed-toe sturdy shoes. Please bring a water bottle and a friend!

When: Where: Nadaka Nature Park – 17615 NE Glisan Street Portland, OR 97230.
Where to Meet: Meet at the picnic structure on the Glisan Street side of the park.

There are two locations for parking:

  1. St. Aidan’s Episcopal Church parking lot next to Nadaka Nature Park located at 17405 NE Glisan Street Gresham, OR 97230.
  2. Nadaka Nature Park north entrance at NE Pacific Street and 176th. You may park in the neighborhood and follow the path through the forest to get to the picnic structure.
