We are delighted to welcome Slider the otter and Seeker the raven to Nadaka. Slider was created by artist Rip Caswell and Seeker was created by artist Chad Caswell. Meeting to discuss safety issues at Nadaka Nature Park. Community is invited. Speakers to include Gresham Police Dept., CVIP, NET (Neighborhood Enforcement Team), Gresham Mediation Specialist, Gresham Parks Dept. representative, Wilkes East Neighborhood Association representative, Friends of Nadaka, Nadaka Ambassadors, St. Aidan’s Episcopal Church. This will be an opportunity to discuss safety issues at the park and what the community can do to get involved and make things better.

On April 4th, 2015 the new 2 acre section of Nadaka Nature Park opened to the delight of the community. Read more about the opening in the article written by Jodi Weinberger of the Outlook.
On August 22, 2015 Artist, Jean Nagai brought his tie-dyed tent to the 5th Annual Nadaka Community Festival for display at the north end of the nature based play area. Here is a short interview with Jean.
Everyone is invited to the 5th Annual Nadaka Community Festival to be held on the south two acres of Nadaka and on the meadow. There will be free hot dogs while they last, fun activities for children and families, live music and dancing. There will be an Interpretive Nature Walk with the Audubon Society of Portland from 9am to 10am.

Interpretive Nature Walk Time (meet at the picnic structure): 9-10am.
Location: 17615 NE Glisan Street Portland, OR 97230. (Even though the address says Portland the park is located in Gresham).
Entrances/Parking: Parking is available in the Wilkes East neighborhood or in the St. Aidan’s parking lot next to Nadaka. Entrances are at 176th and NE Pacific St. or 176th and NE Glisan St.
Rain or shine. Come dressed for weather. Help improve Nadaka by removing invasives, trail maintenance, weeding planted beds and litter removal. Work gloves and tools provided. Refreshments for volunteers. Learn which plants are native to Nadaka and which are invasives and need to be removed. Even if you can only volunteer for One Hour it will help. There is so much to be done at Nadaka to keep it looking like the wonderful park it is.
