Stand Together Week Park Cleanup at Nadaka Nature Park Sunday, June 10th from 1 PM- 4 PM!

Stand Together Week is the Portland Timbers, Thorns FC, and T2 citywide volunteer initiative that brings the community together to support local nonprofit organizations. The week engages hundreds of supporters, including Timbers, Thorns FC, & T2 players, coaches, ambassadors and front office staff who work with various non-profits in the community.
During this project volunteers will help take care of this special natural area park by assisting with the following tasks: – Removing non-native invasive plants – Watering and mulching new plants – Working in the community garden
– Picking up litter.
What to Bring/Wear:
Volunteers should wear closed toed shoes and long pants and bring a water bottle. All other materials will be provided.
Note: Volunteers must be 14 years of age or older to attend without a parent/chaperone.
If you plan to bring children/additional volunteers you MUST reserve slots for them. The best way to do this is to create a Volunteer Team, then sign up your team for this project. Questions? Email teams@handsonportland.org.

Mark your calendar for the Second Annual Community Conservation and Repair Fair at MHCC on Saturday, May 12! This is a free event and open to the entire community.
Held in the Yoshida Event Center, the MHCC conservation fair will offer information and resources on living more sustainably, reducing your environmental footprint, and accessing regional conservation-oriented tools and organizations. Participate in free exhibits and a prize drawing, bring broken items for fixing in the repair café, and grab a snack!
Bring your broken household items and have volunteers fix them for free. Suggested items include:

A big thank you to all those who helped with the SOLVE Earth Day Cleanup at Nadaka. Invasives were removed from the forest and work was done in the community garden as well. Check out The Outlook article here.
Join us in celebrating Arbor Month in April as we begin our tenth year as a Tree City USA. The Green Gresham, Healthy Gresham partnership with Friends of Trees and Multnomah County will host this Rockwood Neighborhood tree-planting event, which includes a volunteer planting at Nadaka Nature Park.
A potluck lunch for all volunteers will be provided after the neighborhood planting is complete.

Looking for a way to give back this Earth Day? Join Friends of Nadaka to restore a healthy habitat at Nadaka Nature Park Saturday April 21st 9 AM-12 PM. We will be removing invasive species such as English Ivy from the 10 acre forested portion of the park, doing mulching projects on the front 2-acres and community garden . The event will start with a brief lesson on native and invasive plant species.
Tools, gloves, and light refreshments will be provided. Dress to work in natural areas: long pants and closed-toe sturdy shoes. Please bring a water bottle and a friend! Activities include: Invasive Plant Removal, Litter Cleanup, Garden Weeding/Cleanup.

Join the Audubon Society and Friends of Nadaka for a family-friendly, guided nature walk, open to both beginners and advanced bird watchers/ naturalists. Bring binoculars if you have them; otherwise, we will have some for you to borrow. Coffee and light refreshment will be provided.
