MLK Day of Service at Nadaka!

MLK DAY of Service at Nadaka!

Join Friends of Nadaka this MLK Day of Service to restore a healthy habitat at Nadaka Nature Park and give back to the community. We will be removing invasive species such as English Ivy from the 10 acre forested portion of the park.

Tools, gloves, and light refreshments will be provided. Dress to work in natural areas: long pants, warm cloths, and closed-toe sturdy shoes. Please bring a water bottle and a friend!

Where: Nadaka Nature Park – 17615 NE Glisan Street Portland, OR 97230.

-Meet at the picnic structure on the Glisan Street side of the park.

There are two locations for parking.

1) St. Aidan’s Episcopal Church parking lot next to Nadaka Nature Park located at 17405 NE Glisan Street Gresham, OR 97230.

 2) Nadaka Nature Park north entrance at NE Pacific Street and 176th. You may park in the neighborhood and follow the path through the forest to get to the picnic structure.

Cleanup at Nadaka

Rain or shine.  Come dressed for weather.  Help improve Nadaka by removing invasives, trail maintenance, weeding planted beds and litter removal. Work gloves and tools provided.  Refreshments for volunteers. Learn which plants are native to Nadaka and which are invasives and need to be removed. Even if you can only volunteer for One Hour it will help.  There is so much to be done at Nadaka to keep it looking like the wonderful park it is.

Celebrate Father’s Day at Nadaka

In honor of Father’s Day why not spend the morning at Nadaka on Saturday,          June 15th helping cleanup the park by removing invasives, clearing weeds from the future community garden and begin moving the boulders out along NE Glisan.  The Army Reservists will be there to do the boulder moving but there will be alot to do in the park.  Cleanup activities will begin at 9:00 am and end around 1:00 pm.  Come dressed for the weather and we will have work gloves, shovels, and other equipment needed for the cleanup.  Refreshments will be provided for volunteers.  For more information contact Lee at leewilkeseastna@hotmail.com or 503.998.1044.  Bring your Dad or any other special person.

Join SOLVE at Nadaka for Earth Day Cleanup

There is a SOLVE event scheduled again this year on Saturday, April 20th from 9 am untl 1 pm.  Join other Friends of Nadaka to help improve the park.  If you know  students looking for community volunteer opportunities, Scouts, ball or soccer teams, church groups or businesses please pass on this information.
