6th Annual Nadaka Community Festival

6th Annual Nadaka Community Festival -Saturday August 20th 12pm-3pm

Everyone is welcome to the 6th Annual Nadaka Community Festival to be held at Nadaka Nature Park in Gresham on August 20th from Noon to 3:00pm.   Portland Audubon’s live educational birds will be there and we’ll have activities for all ages.  Free hot dogs (while they last), face painting and the Aztec dancers will perform in the meadow.  Community groups will have information tables.

MLK Day of Service at Nadaka!

MLK DAY of Service at Nadaka!

Join Friends of Nadaka this MLK Day of Service to restore a healthy habitat at Nadaka Nature Park and give back to the community. We will be removing invasive species such as English Ivy from the 10 acre forested portion of the park.

Tools, gloves, and light refreshments will be provided. Dress to work in natural areas: long pants, warm cloths, and closed-toe sturdy shoes. Please bring a water bottle and a friend!

-Meet at the picnic structure on the Glisan Street side of the park.

There are two locations for parking.

1) St. Aidan’s Episcopal Church parking lot next to Nadaka Nature Park located at 17405 NE Glisan Street Gresham, OR 97230.

 2) Nadaka Nature Park north entrance at NE Pacific Street and 176th. You may park in the neighborhood and follow the path through the forest to get to the picnic structure.

Nadaka Community Festival

Everyone is invited to the 5th Annual Nadaka Community Festival to be held on the south two acres of Nadaka and on the meadow.  There will be free hot dogs while they last, fun activities for children and families, live music and dancing. There will be an Interpretive Nature Walk with the Audubon Society of Portland from 9am to 10am.

Rain or shine.  Come dressed for weather.  Help improve Nadaka by removing invasives, trail maintenance, weeding planted beds and litter removal. Work gloves and tools provided.  Refreshments for volunteers. Learn which plants are native to Nadaka and which are invasives and need to be removed. Even if you can only volunteer for One Hour it will help.  There is so much to be done at Nadaka to keep it looking like the wonderful park it is.

Nadaka Tea Party Fundraiser

2015-04-28 16.36.19Everyone is cordially invited to a Nadaka Tea Party Fundraiser to celebrate the Camp Fire Girls of Nadaka.  Come and enjoy delicious scones, sandwiches, desserts and tea while enjoying stories from some of the Camp Fire Girls who spent time at Nadaka Camp.  Then enjoy a quick walk through the forest to feel the magic.

You are encouraged to wear a hat and there will be a prize for the best one.

Tadpole Tales for Children at Nadaka

This is a weekly event occurring on Wednesdays in May (Please RSVP for each date you plan to attend). Children aged 3-5 with their parents are invited to a short story and guided nature walk. Watch birds fly overhead, search for hidden animal homes, and learn about local trees and flowers. Themes change weekly.Event runs rain or shine.  $3 admission/donation per child, no charge for adults.  Families are welcome to bring a snack.  Additional event dates can be found here: Tadpole Tales

Nadaka Grand Opening Celebration

Official grand opening celebration.  Come and see the development of the 2 acre site at the South edge of Nadaka Nature Park.  The Audubon Society of Portland’s Education birds will be there together with activities for the whole family and light refreshments.
